Raspberry Pi based Extreme XBMC Media Center allows you to manage your media library and play any of your unencrypted digital movies by attaching a USB drive. This unit itself is small enough to sit hidden out of the way and runs silently. You wouldn’t even know it was there. It would be a great idea to backup your amount of Blu-ray/DVD disc movies to USB drive and then watch them via Raspberry Pi 2 Based Media Center. When you do this, you don’t need to insert or eject your physical discs again and you can lay your heavy Blu-ray/DVD drive aside.

Raspberry Pi based Extreme XBMC Media Center is full compatible with iOS and Android. So when you are backing up Blu-ray/DVD collection to Raspberry Pi based Media Center, you can consider MP4 format which can be supported by nearly all iOS and Android deices. Here, I suggest Pavtube BDMagic to help you achieve this goal.

This software can deal with any DVD/Blu-ray disc, no matter encrypted by AACS, BD+ or Disney, region codes, etc and output perfectly MP4 video with original video quality. For attaching more Blu-ray/DVD to USB drive for Raspberry Pi 2 Based Media Center, this app enables you to compress the video size by adjusting video size and bitrate. (review)
